merriment of life

fun
[fuhn]: noun
1. something that provides mirth or amusement
2. enjoyment or playfulness

a few fun things that i've done this summer so far:

1. concert :D

My dear friends Michelle and Stephanie invited me to go to a concert with them and some of our other friends last week. We left around 1:30 in order to get in line earlier so that we could get a good spot for the concert. Stephanie dropped Michelle and I off, while she went to get one of our other friends for the concert. As Michelle and I walked through the area we realized that there were very few people around. As you can see from the picture below: There was no line. Haha.

of course we had to keep ourselves occupied as we waited for our other friends. we took some pictures of ourselves,

sat under an interesting sun roof,

and stalked famous people (a.k.a the band).

our other friends arrived! and we all waited in the non-existent line. :D

finally some the opening concerts started...so we naturally sat on the grass and took pictures of ourselves while listening to the music.

and the moment that we had all been waiting for. drum roll please........parachute!! :)

it was a good ol' time.

2. summer festival :D

one of my favorite things to do in logan for the summer is attending the summer festival. there are booths everywhere and it's soooo neat to see what people make. i always find things that i want to copy and make for myself, like the picture below. isn't it cute?!

Stacy went to the summer fest with me...we had some great laughs!

3. penny candy and rock band :D

Stephanie came to logan to visit!! yay visitors. Jami, Jenny, Stephanie, and I went to Center Street Grill (best place EVER for a delicious burger), and then we went to the Island Market for some penny candy. well, technically it's now called two cent candy, but that doesn't flow! flow is flow! in my heart i will always call it penny candy. :)

afterwards, we went and played ROCK BAND!

*sigh* rock and roll baby.

great food + great music + great friends = great times :D

4. mustangs

ever since spring break, i see mustangs everywhere. they're probably in my dreams too....

FIRE

pretty flowers...and trying to get a picture of myself with the pretty flowers

sitting on the car in beautiful weather

admiring cute shoes

finding silly markers

eating a taste of the rainbow

playing in water

going to little league baseball

and eating ice cream! (don't worry...I didn't actually eat this...maybe someday :D )

three i's of success

integrity
[in-teg-ri-tee]: noun
1. adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty
2. the state of being whole, entire, or undiminished
3. a sound, unimpaired, or perfect condition

integrity leaves an impression on people. it shows people who you are and what you stand for. makes you trustworthy. how do we show our integrity? it can be as simple as showing up to work or class on time.

make it a habit!

initiative
[ih-nish-ee-uh-tiv]: noun

1. an introductory act or step; leading action
2. readiness and ability in initiating action; enterprise
3. one’s personal, responsible decision

shows your passionate. shows leadership. it forces you to be involved so you can expand your network of people. how do we show initiative? get out there and do something. don't sit around and let life pass you by. live it. love it. breath it.

the more work you have to do, the more value you gain.

intelligence
[in-tel-i-juh ns]: noun
1. capacity for learning, reasoning, understanding, and similar forms of mental activity; aptitude in grasping truths, relationships, facts, meanings, ect.
2. manifestation of a high mental capacity
3. the faculty of understanding

shows what you know. some may think intelligence doesn't matter...guess what, it does matter! it allows us to have communication skills where we can effectively present ourselves in front of others. how do we get these skills? READING. good reading will improve our communication and have an effect on our writing as well.

having the ability to see the world broadly and combining it with initiative makes things happen.

safety tip: always be aware of your surroundings.
